Winter Inspiration For Your Kitchen

Brrrr! It’s cold out there. Whether you love or hate winter, there’s no doubt it can leave you and your home feeling less than cosy at times. Luckily, we at Kitchen Craftsmen have some handy winter inspiration for your kitchen, to help bring a little warmth back into your home.

Let There Be Light

There’s not always a lot of natural sunlight to enjoy during the long winter months, so it’s important to make the most of it when you can. Freshen up your windows by giving them a good clean and closing up any gaps that can let in the cold winter air.

If natural light just can’t be found, don’t despair! Add some candles for a romantic touch, or bring in a lamp to add some warming light. Just don’t allow your kitchen to adopt a ‘sterile’ look – it will make you feel cold just looking at it!

Add a Pop of Colour

Don’t let winter blues be the main colour of your home. Instead, brighten up your space with pops of bright colour that can really add that much-needed warmth. In the kitchen, accessorise with bright rugs, a vase of flowers or even a bowl of fruit – anything to add a little colour without looking cluttered.

Winter Cooking

Is there a recipe you’ve been longing to try out, or just fancy creating some hearty meals to get you through the cold? Winter is a great time to be creative in the kitchen. We love these winter warmer recipes here and here – they’re sure to fill your home with gorgeous aromas during those long, rainy winter nights.  Delicious!

Get Organised

When it’s raining outside, why not make use of those hours you’re stuck indoor to give your kitchen a little TLC? Winter is a great time to get a start on your spring cleaning – or get it out of the way entirely. Start by thoroughly de-cluttering your kitchen and giving everything a home. Then, spend some time giving your appliances, bench tops and cupboards a good cleaning, paying special attention to those hard-to-reach places that get overlooked in daily cleaning.
